The Bodytalk is activated by the ring of your cell phone. It is so sensitive to electromagnetic waves that in order to have it react to your cell phone ONLY, you need to keep far way from other house or office gadgets like mobile phones. Mobile phones and modems can activate it even when they are not in active use, so this little pink vibe can get a bit out of hand in confined spaces. When the signal is strong, you cannot override it with the “off” button, you need to remove the batteries.
If set off by one of these machines, the Bodytalk will vibrate through three different patterns, rerunning until the call ends or the source of activation is moved away. You cannot change the speed of the vibrations; they work according to their own plan and the vibrations are quite strong, whatever the pattern.
The battery chamber is very narrow so some regular AA batteries will not fit inside. The OhmiBod range can be ordered with its own range of spunky batteries called Dead Batteries which fit in perfectly.
Because this toy has a mind of its own, it’s not the most practical of vibrators, but for women who have tried out more basic stuff, the Bodytalk is a very cool novelty. It makes a great gift for someone who is a good sport.
